The property, located in the premium suburb of Seaforth had already been partly renovated with a cement rendered exterior. The internal floorplan remained split into many rooms in keeping with the architecture of the era in which it was built. All the main work areas of the home were in need of renovation, including the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry.
Also missing was a master bedroom suite, a must have!
The client contacted Ferrari Constructions with designs in place for an extensive remodel of the ground floor living, kitchen and dining areas. This included removing the many dividing walls and installation of structural steel supporting beams to facilitate this. The goal was to have open plan family living with ample room to move.
A new kitchen featuring premium design, finishes and appliances was installed, along with a beautifully updated laundry/bathroom. We extended the living area to the front boundary, created a new entry, and created a mud room cupboard to hide away costs, school bags etc. The floors were replaced with Australian Black Butt timber which sets of the new space perfectly.
Heading upstairs, the design included a second storey master bedroom suite incorporating built in robes and ensuite. A small balcony joined the master suite to the backyard and created a great spot to unwind for the lucky clients.
Further into the project, a second upstairs bathroom renovation was added to the brief. Externally, silver travertine was laid giving the clients somewhere to entertain leading from their beautiful new kitchen.
This project lacked a garage and driveway, meaning all material had to be hand carried up two flights of winding stairs. This included structural steel beams, no easy feat!
Despite this, the project ran fairly smoothly – a great effort by the team.
The time taken for this home renovation project in Seaforth, from start to handover was around 5 months
On completion, this Seaforth home renovation and extension was and outstanding success. Our clients now have the open plan family living space that they craved, with a completely renovated home in the area that they love.
The new master suite has given mum and dad their own space to retreat to. The bathrooms and laundry finished off the main work areas of the home, with stylish finishes and fixtures that look great as well as being functional.
This renovated home is now all about lifestyle, and will easily accommodate the growing needs – and kids! – of the family as they go through the stages of life to come.
Overall a great team effort from the building team, designer and engineer.
